From the Staff of Waller Baptist Church, We Welcome You! Waller Baptist Church is in the process of searching our next senior pastor. Our search committee is working hard at finding the right man God has chosen to lead WBC.
Minister of Music - John Isom John Isom has served on the Waller Baptist staff since March of 1980. He graduated from the University of Houston in 1970 with a business administration degree in accounting. After working for IBM as a computer systems analyst at the NASA space center on the Skylab, and Space Shuttle programs, God called him to service at WBC. Coming to WBC to be Minister of Music and Youth, he enjoyed eight years of working with the youth, taking as many as 50 youth to summer camp. After completing seminary masters degrees in Religious Education (1986) and Marriage and Family Counseling (1988), (and after getting too old for those all-night youth lock-ins!) he became Minister of Music and Education in 1988. He has served as the President of the Singing Men of Southeast Texas and enjoys leading studies on Biblical backgrounds and on family life. He is currently serving WBC as bi-vocational Minister of Music while also working in the community as the Director of the Waller Economic Development Corporation. He and Barbara began dating at a high school summer youth camp and have been married since 1968. Barbara is the receptionist at Fields Store Elementary School in Waller ISD. John's life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, and he invites everyone in the community to visit Waller Baptist, enjoy worship through our music ministry, and learn how God wants to use them to touch people's lives for Him.
Interim Youth Pastor - Dennis Doty
Children's Minister - Pastor Joe Joe was born in Oklahoma City and grew up in Atoka, OK. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, OK with a degree in education and history. In 1971, he married Sharon Marley and they have two daughters, Brandi and her husband Jason, Tori and her husband Chris, all who live here, and a son, Marley and his wife Jamie, who live in Huffman, Texas. They are blessed to have eight grandchildren – three granddaughters and five grandsons. In addition to serving as Children’s Minister, Joe uses his knowledge and skill training as a Master Electrician and his license as a HVAC State contractor while employed for a national motel chain where his position is Regional Maintenance Engineer for properties in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Joe served as youth director in churches in Oklahoma and Florida and also pastored three churches in Oklahoma. He was a member of the Oklahoma Baptist Executive Board and attended seminary extension classes offered by Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Belief in the promises given in Proverbs 22:6 “that if a child is trained up in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it” serves as a guide for his ministry with children. One of his goals is to reach boys and girls with the message that the God who created them is the God who loves them and desires to walk with them each day.
Young Adults Pastor (Staff Coordinator) - Chris Pace Chris Pace joined the staff September 1, 2007 to minister to young adults and their families. Chris served as Chaplain and High School Bible teacher at Rosehill Christian School for 9 years prior to WBC. He is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University with a degree in Christian Ministry and has also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Tori, were married in May, 1997 and have four children: Joel, Kylie, Lily and Solomon. Tori has also taught in Christian schools for the last 11 years. Their greatest desire is to see marriage and family restored to its place of honor in our culture and know that it will only happen through a commitment to follow Jesus Christ wholeheartedly. Psalms 78:4,6 “We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His Power, and the wonders He has done… so the next generation would know them, even children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children.”
